EPA has a key role in assessing the environmental prformance of the proposed desalination plant in the Wonthaggi region.

EPA will assess wether the proposed desalination plant meets the requirements set out under the Environment Protection Act 1970. A works approval application will be assessed in conjunction with the desalination plant environment effects statement (EES) process.
